| What is a Second Chance At Life? |
Quite simply second chance is what a lot of people need and don't get. There are many
broken lives that feel like they will never be mended and need someone to let them
know they can go beyond their mistakes and their past and become a productive part of
society again.
Second Chance began as a second chance for the founder Roy Darst. In 1994 Roy was
addicted to drugs and alcohol and was destroying himself daily with any and all types of
substances. That changed when he was found by the Apostolic faith. Through
repentance and many trials Roy has been delivered from drugs and alcohol celebrating
nearly fifteen years of sobriety and peace. After many years of substance abuse
education Roy founded Second Chance in 2004. Roy is now a full time student, father of
four and soon to be grandfather. He and his brother Dr. Gary Darst are in the process of
writing and publishing a book and several new and updated drug and substance abuse
program lessons.
Second Chance is now a ministry of Lighthouse Apostolic Faith in Bardstown, Ky.
